We have a winner of my 12th monthly giveaway!

Huge thanks to everyone who visited my blog this month and a special thanks to those who entered the draw for my last giveaway of 2016.

The prize this time is a $12.00 gift card from Amazon.com.

Wow, I must be tired. As I write this it is Tuesday evening; I’ve been baking and wrapping gifts today and when I looked over the little I’d typed above I had two silly mistakes – totally wrong words, not simply misspells. I was almost giving someone a “give card”.  🙂

Okay, back to the fun stuff.

We have a winner!

I used random.org name picker and found the winner …

with this comment …

I prefer online shopping when I need a quick gift but love the feeling of shopping in a brick and mortar store. Feels more personal buying gifts as well as supporting small businesses.

Is …

MICHELLE!

Congratulations, Michelle! I will get this sent to you after I receive your reply to my email.

So, that’s it, folks! It’s been a year already. The giveaways have been fun for me, and I hope you enjoyed them, too. Did you have a favourite?

Now I must go do some kitchen cleanup, then get some sleep so I can be ready to continue my Christmas baking.

Do you do much baking for the holidays?

Thanks for reading, and … Creative Musings!  🙂

My bookmark is usually whatever is handy at the time–grocery store bill, used envelope, movie or concert ticket–clearly I need to up my game. And I never turn down the corner of a page.

is…

HEATHER!

Congratulations, Heather! I will get this into the mail to you as soon as I can this week. We have some stormy weather coming tonight and tomorrow.

To everyone  interested in my giveaways, I’ve been watching for and setting aside fun things that, in some way, have to do with reading and/or writing.  The DECEMBER giveaway will be posted  as soon as I settle on what special thing to give away during Christmas month.  Stay tuned!

Thanks for reading, and … Creative Musings! :)

PS

I decided that after I mail Heather’s bookmark to her, because only four people entered the draw and I have enough of these bookmarks, each of you will be receiving one.

My 3rd Giveaway of 2016! Your chance to win!

Are you ready for another giveaway?

While out shopping with one of my daughters recently I had you in mind. I wanted to find something for my next giveaway. When I discovered these fun bookmarks I knew this is the one for March.

I really like this type of bookmark as it is magnetic and clips over the page in your book. It’s very hard to lose it then, and you can easily find your place because this bookmark can’t slip down between your pages. Of course, that means you have to be reading a paper book. 🙂

Take a look. Aren’t they cute? I think they’re great for book lovers, and so easy to use.  There are three on the card with instructions on the back of the card.

If you want to enter the draw for a chance to win these three magnetic bookmarks, leave a comment telling me what you usually use to mark your place in a book.

Draw date for this giveaway is at 10 PM AST, that’s 9 PM Eastern, on  Wednesday, March 9. This gives you lots of time to pass the word on to others, too.

I will use Random.org name picker to find out which of you is the winner. Watch here the next morning for the announcement, and don’t forget to check your email. These could be yours!

Remember, you have until March 9 to get your name into the draw, but don’t put it off!

PS:  I am prepared to mail these to anywhere.

My Giveaway #2 of 2016! Your chance to win!

Are you one who still likes to write letters longhand? I know it’s a fading art. In fact, it’s becoming a fading skill.

Writing is healthy for the brain. You have to concentrate in a different way, both to think of your words and to manually form the letters to write them, so it exercises two skills at once. It’s good for you! The more you write longhand the better your writing becomes, unless you’re like me and hurry a bit too much so have to slow down to create a neat legible script.

I make my own envelopes – most of them from old calendars, a great way to recycle and reuse them. The plain white envelopes that you can buy are okay, good for formal mail; however, I enjoy sending out notes and sometimes bill payments in an envelope I’ve made. (Yes, I’m one who does not use online banking or online bill paying. I’m using the “old way” as long as I can.)

Even if you don’t write letters you may need to mail something now and again. This giveaway is another which will not suit everyone, but perhaps you know someone who would appreciate having this month’s giveaway.  You can direct that person here or enter your own name to try to win for them.

So, what am I giving away? Twelve of my homemade envelopes to one of you!

As you can see, they’re mostly pictures of beautiful Atlantic Canada. These envelopes are standard letter size.

Giveaway this Wednesday!

This is a short post to remind you I am drawing a name in my first giveaway of 2016 on Wednesday (January 13). I’m planning to have other draws as the year progresses, when I find things I can easily mail out.  This could turn into my year of giveaways!

Please note in my right sidebar I have a Milestone widget that’s counting down the days to the draw date. Each time I hold a giveaway I’ll be using that to make it easy for everyone. When you come to visit you’ll know what to look for and easily see the important details of the immediate upcoming draw.

I would love it if YOU would help me get started by entering your name in my draw for this month. See my first post about it HERE with lots of pictures. Perhaps you don’t use anything but electronic/digital anymore. If that’s the case, you may have a friend who would appreciate having this planner. You could enter your name to try to win it for them. Or send them here to try for themselves.

2016 planner

I feel as if I’m begging here, pleading for people to enter my draw! Well, okay…. PLEASE enter my draw, and tell your friends about it. The more the merrier, so they say.  Of course, if no one else puts their name in the draw those who did have a much better chance of winning. 🙂

Just leave your comment telling me why you prefer using a paper planner to an electronic/digital one.

Happy January everyone!

My first GIVEAWAY of 2016! Your chance to win!

Hello, everyone!  Happy New Year (again)!

I decided to start this year off with a small giveaway

I like pocket planners. I know so many people now use their phones but I prefer to use a paper planner, so I’d been trying to find one for 2016. It seems around here they were in very short supply this year but I finally found this pretty pink one.  (Yes, I like pink.) It’s not actually quite as brilliant pink as shown below.

2016 plannerThis little planner is 3 1/2″ x  6 3/4″ and barely 1/4″ thick.

The reason I am giving this one away is because a dear friend gave me one for Christmas and I don’t need both. If YOU can use it and would like to enter a draw to try to win it, I will be pleased to mail it to whomever’s name is drawn.

Here are a few shots of the inside pages.

This 2016 planner has the 2017 calendar on the back page, a measuring guide in inches in the front and in the back it’s in centimeters. Each month takes up two facing pages so you see the whole month at a glance. There’s room on the first page for your personal information, also several pages for phone numbers (or email addresses) you want to keep handy, a few pages for your notes in the back, and a section for travel/expense records for each month. Oh, and it is in both English and French.

If you want to try to win this handy 2016 monthly pink pocket planner, just leave a comment telling me why you prefer a paper planner to using an electronic one.

2016 planner.2

I want to give people enough time to enter, but since this is for a planner and it’s already nearly a week into the first month, this contest time will be short. I will use Random.org name picker to draw out one name on Wednesday next week.

The draw will be January 13th at 10:00 PM AST. (That’s 9:00 EST)

Pass the word around and be sure to leave a comment for your chance to win!
