I love the song by Simon and Garfunkel – The Sound of Silence. It’s so sentimental and beautiful. Although I’ve heard it performed by others, when I heard The Sound of Silence performed by David Draiman of the group “Disturbed” – – an American heavy metal band — WOW! It’s such an amazing rendition. I’ve never liked heavy metal music but this song is not handled as heavy metal and is not at all destructive of Simon and Garfunkel’s music.
The song was performed on the Conan O’Brien show in March 2016. In case you missed it … here it is: The Sound of Silence performed of David Draiman of Disturbed.
Tell me, what is your thinking about it?
Thanks for reading, and … Creative Musings! 🙂
I like this version, a lot!!

Hi Lynn, being a big fan of the original, the one and only Simon and Garfunkel I watched this fully expecting to be disappointed. I wasn’t. Thank you. I think the singer has quite a remarkable voice and he did justice to the sentiments of the song too.

I’m very glad this was not a disappointment to you, David. I, too, am a huge fan of the original and was quite impressed by this performance of the song. In fact, it has become one of my favourites. Thank you so much for your comment, David. (((hugs to you)))
