Say what?? The above is how a spam message began – a message waiting for my approval. Funny, isn’t it? And I did laugh, but there are some days I am so fed up with spam it is no joke!
What gets me is … What are they thinking?! What kind of message is that? And who in their right mind would approve it?
There are some pretty legit-looking comments that are left, though, and a person has to be really on their toes to discern which ones are to be denied as spam. It does get tiresome.
I am thankful for Akismet used here by WordPress, but even then the spam messages pile up in my spam box. I’m very glad they don’t get through to my actual messages, though, so, thanks WordPress team!
Do you sometimes feel overwhelmed by spam? Has spam ever become more than an annoyance to you?

I’ve been getting a over abundant amount of spam messages myself since the beginning of April. Most is written in Chinese. But then there are the ones that make no sense….like “Wonderful whip! I would like to newbie at the same time while you change your website, just how can i personally register to get a website The particular consideration reduced the problem a satisfactory bargain. I’ve been a bit common with this your current sent out furnished shiny apparent notion” LOL

Some spam is gibberish, but some is intelligible. Though, the “Name” section usually clues me off. Mom is in charge of my spam. 🙂

I have had times when the spam is overwhelming, especially when I first began my blog and didn’t know how to recognize the more “normal” spam messages. Wow, did I open the floodgates. I’m like you, Lynn. Very grateful for Akimet!!

This is why I have my settings so that every message doesn’t automatically post. It would be overwhelming!

I get those strangely worded spam messages also. Just got one the other day & I had to take a second glance to make sure it was what it was & it wasn’t what it wasn’t. No, I don’t like frog legs & spam. Dr. Suess would almost be proud!
