I’m excited! I have been watching my Blog Stats steadily climb, and sometime this morning it reached the amazing total of 3000. In fact, at the time of this writing it is at 3003! That means that there have been 3003 visits to my blog! Not 3003 visitors, because most are repeat visits by some people who come back again and again – which I love to see. And not all visits mean a comment has been left, nowhere near that many on my blog – not even counting the spam that has been caught and blocked – but when I get to 1000 valid comments I will have to celebrate somehow.
Now I know that for many bloggers that number (3000) is a drop in the bucket, but for me? That’s a lot of visiting, don’t you think? And I have YOU, dear reader, to thank for that. 🙂
SO, my questions to you today are:
- Do you like to keep a blog of your own, and does it matter to you if you get many comments?
- Or are you a frequent visitor to blogs, not interested in maintaining your own but loving to read what others have to share and then leaving your comments? (If yes, do you have favourites that you follow or do you keep searching out new blogs?)
- Or, do you prefer to just visit and not say anything … until you leave me a comment today in answer to that last question? 😉
I LOVE to hear from you! When I started blogging it was with a certain amount of trepidation but now I don’t think I could NOT blog, I’d miss it and you too much. So, leave me a comment? 🙂
Thanks for reading, and … Creative Musings! 🙂
Good afternoon Lynn,
I do agree that 3,000 visits is a great achievement. I too decided to jump in with both feet last November and began a personal commitment to blogging. I have so many thoughts race through my head on a given day. Sometimes I think, “If everyone was able to hear this idea, then a particular situation would be better, or that person wouldn’t have so many difficulties!” That’s why I blog…to share ideas. Writing is a carthatic release. I always feel much better after I put my ideas out to the universe. The fact that we have visitors, human or bot….at least validates/affirms that my message has made contact with some cerebral or databank entity. So, I share with you the feeling that I MUST blog–barring power interruptions.
Keep writing and sharing Lynn. I would recommend if you haven’t read it already, “Chicken Soup for the Writer’s Soul!” Chapters are 2-5 pages and filled with personal stories of struggle and triumph for people just like you and me who are compelled to communicate! Have a great weekend.
Cheers,
Ed

Thank you so much, Ed, for your wonderful comment. I will look for the book you mentioned, thank you for recommending it. Steadily my personal library grows! 🙂
I have visited your blog and will add it to one I follow, however sporadically.

I have a blog. I don’t post much. I really don’t know what to blog about.
I read blogs. I can’t seem to read often enough to keep up. There is too much information out there. I read when I can.
I guess I am a binge blogger and a binge blog reader as they each go in spurts. 🙂

Yes, I have visited your blog and I really enjoy how you write and tell a story. I look forward to being able to purchase your first pb when it finds a publisher who loves it. 🙂
I understand about binge blog reading. There are so many out there that I like that I can’t visit them all as often as I would like.
Thanks so much for your contribution, LadyJai. 🙂

Oh Lynn, I don’t have to tell you that I have a blog or how frequently I update or the fact that I visit a number of other blogs because you already know this.. But I’ll leave a comment anyway. It’s nice to hear from those who are out there reading what we post. They end up being more than numbers which is nice!
So glad that you’re blogging and enjoying the increased visits from others.. Congrats on your 3,000 visitors!

Yes, I know you have taken on posting on your blog about every second day, which you are doing great at keeping up. You are a very good blogger. And I agree with you that our visitors become more than numbers, more like friends we’ve never met in person, I’d say.
Thank you for commenting, anyway. 🙂

Hi Lynn! I keep a blog, as you know (thanks for stopping by!)… would love to post much more frequently than I do but finding the time as a new mommy can be pretty challenging. I like comments, but will continue blogging whether I get them or not. My current blog is as much about keeping a journal to look back on in the future as it is sharing our experience with others.
I read a few blogs myself but hardly ever leave comments for some reason. I can’t really blame baby for that one, it only takes a minute to leave a comment. 🙂

Melanie, welcome to my blog!
Yes, you have a sweet blog, one that will make a wonderful journal to look back on. I enjoy popping in there as one of your earliest followers. In time your following will increase as people find you and your uniqueness. Also, it’s interesting to see what you and Baby enjoy in books as my interest is to write books for readers like you and Baby.
I read more blog posts than I comment on, too, but sometimes there is just not anything I can think of to add to what has been said. As a blogger I appreciate even just a few words to let me know that real people have been there, so I must try to be more ‘on the ball’ that way myself.
Thanks for your comment here, Melanie. Hope to see you again.

Congratualtions Lynn on 3000 visits to your blog! I do keep a blog and love getting comments, even short ones that let me know people are actually reading it. I also like to read other blogs and make the odd comment. It is amazing how many wonderful blogs there are out there particulary related to writing and about writers. It took me a while to give it a try but now I am glad that I did. I am not as regular as some but I am OK with that. Thanks for the good questions and keep blogging.
