 Today is officially
A week ago our daughter and our young grandson were across the road flying kites, since it’s a great place for that with the wide open fields on a breezy day. Our little guy was having a great time. He hardly had to move and the kite was lifting off in the updraft.
It’s a sign of the coming Spring. Remember those days? 🙂
Here today it is a glorious 20º Celcius , which is 68º Fahrenheit – and it actually got a little warmer than that where my house is located. We are having an early Spring in Nova Scotia! Hopefully the temperatures will not change back until late Autumn as the buds are beginning to swell on trees and shrubs.
Our daughter, out west in Alberta, says it’s not spring there! At -17º C, (which is 54.6 F if I did the math correctly) all she had to say about it was …  brrr  😦  phhht! 
So —Â to anyone, like my daughter, who is still dreaming of warmer weather … I hope it happens soon for you.
In the meantime —
I love Spring! It means that Summer is next and … I love Summer! 🙂

Our Spring starts either March 21, or March 20 – which it did this year. It has something to do with the equinox.

Last week it was 65. Today I woke up to 29. I. am. cranky. But, my hubby started a fire in the wood stove. I will feel better soon 😉

I hear ya! It got very cold here again, especially in the wind. brrrr!
There is no heat with which to warm oneself that’s as cozy as a wood fire.

It’s been such a wild spring, and even though everyone loves it, there are real problems for some people. A friend in Michigan posted that all of the apple and cherry trees around her are in full bloom – and they risk losing the whole fruit crop with this week’s freezing weather.
It’s a good reminder that our comfort isn’t always the best measure of things! And down here, we’re wishing Mother Nature would turn down the thermostat. We’re going to be in the 80s for the rest of the week, with heat indices in the 90s. We’re breaking records day after day, and – it’s the heat that’s making people grumpy! Too funny!

It is gradually starting to warm up again here, but there is still a little snow on the ground. Here in the Valley it’s a concern for our farmers too, losing fruit tree crops is a real risk. It just goes to show that there is no way possible to satisfy everyone at once.
Records were broken in various locations throughout our three Maritime provinces this month, some days were so very warm for this time of year. Then the dip into cold. It’s as if we are on a weather pendulum.
It’s the heat and humidity combination that makes me grumpy. It just does not affect me in a positive way and makes it so hard to maintain a pleasant mood. Be warned! 😉
